Wait, what is an Android talk doing at a Swift conference, you ask? Although you do iOS development at work, there's a chance you may be asked to support the Android version of your company's app. Perhaps you need to collaborate with the Android team to ensure feature parity between iOS and Android. Or your company has a small mobile team, and your team has already released one platform to the market and now it's time to build for the other platform. If you're already a mobile developer in iOS, you don't have to start from scratch to learn Android! There are many concepts that apply to mobile development across platforms. In this talk, I will go over a beginner Android app, exploring the similar architectural concepts between Android and iOS. And for the differences, I'll explain the Android concept by comparing and contrasting to its corollary iOS counterpart.

Regardless of the reason for learning Android development, leveraging your existing iOS skills will help speed up your adoption of Android and make you a stronger mobile developer overall!
